My favorite time period of history is probbaly the industrial revolution. And i think it is my favorite because i enjoyed watching the world rapidly evolve. Seeing how the world changed radically almost overnight is very intretsing. I would say though that it is tied with the world wars for favorite history period. And that is just because of the conflict between the entire world and all the different ideaologies. I also enjoy the advancement of science and technlogy in both periods and how it has helped to shape the world today. What i learned about the industrial revolution is really just more details about the period. I learned more about the people involved and how the class struggles shaped how the revolution was viewed and how it effected everyday life. With world war 2 i just enjoyed learning more about the things i already knew about. For example when i did my project on the nuremburg trials. I enjoy learning every little thing that led up to the invention of nucleat science and th dropping of the atomic bomb.

Nationalists during the great depression werevery powerful. Many of the problems occuring during the great depresion were delt with in one of two ways. The first was a poor reaction and the other was using the issues to fuel the people to act. For example, a lack of resources and frustration at the economy was what the nationlists used to fuel an attack on china.

In japan in the 1920s there were huge reforms both politically and socially. But we also saw the rise of the liberal party. This party was not the same as the liberal party in america. This party focused on powerful business leaders. Because of this change in parties the economic situation in japan jumped greatly, with business and trade spreading to the whole world.

The two parties struggled mostly in political senses. There were the communists who of course wanted a communist government. But the other party wanted a more democratic government. They banded together to fight japan, but their own political struggles continued t tear the country apart.

After world war 1 the indian uprising was sparked by other countries around them declaring independence. There was also such a massive change of things in the ottomen empire and all the involved countries that it would be far easier for the indians to rise up considering it was already chaotic over there.

I have finished reading all the documents and have answered all the questions by now. so far i have learned more about the background with the zimmerman telegram and the meanng behind the 14 points. I also learned a lot about how president roosevelt felt about wilsons decisions concerning the war. I choosse the zimmerman telegram the 14 points a roosevelts reaction on the sinking of the luscitania. My favorit has probbaly been the 14 points, just because it was intresting to see what president wilson thought should happen in the war compared to what was actually happning.

world war 1 ended when Germany surrendered to the allies on november 11 1918. In this war, no one really won. Like most wars. You could say the allies won because they were surrendered too and they would recieve war payments for victory. But the financial and resourcces that the war cost them didn't really help to make up for it. Also Germany and the central powers couldent really pay the huge dues, so it's not like the money was actually going to the allies. The consequences of the war on both sides were heavy calualties, economic crisis and finanacial hardship.

What i know about world war one is that it was started by the assination of archduke ferdinand. This is what sparked the war. During the war i know that russia and the US were allies, and that the US was not orginally going to go to war. When germany i belive it was sunk one of the us's ships that caused us to enter the war and aid france . What i wouldl ike to know about it is pretty much everything i don't know. I just like to learn about this time of history.

What were some of the problems the ottoman empire faced? Well some of the problems were that were faced were rooted in modernization. The ottoman empire wasn ot as advanced as some of the other owlrd powers in teh area. This made it easy for others to take them over and split them apart. Another problem was the newest generation of ottomen people. The younger generation wanted to put an end to the strict rules and regulatiions that governed their people. They also wanted to reform teh way the governemnt was run in order to modernize their country.

Imperialisum to me is the act of taking land in another country to better your country or hold authority of another country. Colonies are a mathod of this. Where you send your people to anoter country to make towns and villages in order to access their resources and eventually take over. Sending people of authorty is another way. Like when the french sent their authorities overseas to rule small countries. To me it is a method of reaching out to other countries without nessicarily sending armies or violent threats. But insteand by sending people taht will support their country.

The united states of america grew to its large size through multiple purchases that were made by the presidents. The largest of these was the Louisiana purchase, which brought a lot of land to america. This included states from Montana to Louisiana and all in between. The other states on the California side of the US were purchasesd later one at a time. I do know that New mexico however along with parts of Arizona belonged to mexico until the US purchased it from mexico.

Two large events took place when the ottomen empire fell. First of all when the empire weakened all of the larger powers scrambled to get parts of it. What also happened was known as the "Balkan powder keg". Which is what helped to set off WW1 when the archduke was assassinated.

I think nationalism is having love and devotion to your country. I also think it involves some kind of service to your country. I think this is impotent because without devotion to your country there is really no point in livng there. in some way you need to serve your country. Weather it be in the military or in a field of research, or even just helping out citizens in their country.

I think that overall Bismark was a good guy. I mean he may have been a jerk overall, but from what we know in the histroy boks he did a lot of great things. He was called the iron chancellor, but he also didn't do things that wen't nessicary. He didn't mass muder, didn't attack without reason and put his money and power into imporving his country for people. Even when he had some problems with the cathloics and socialists, he understood that other tactics were much more effective then killing. these methods didn's always work but, they did make me feel more secure in his place. He also did a lot of things to benifit the common people, even if his motives were to keep himself in power. For example social benifits like disibility insurence and retirement.

In the 1800s Germany was region of divided states that spoke german. At the time Napoleon also took over a lot of them, claimng them for france. But he also institued a lot of his own laws, for example he forced the austrian king to step down. But he also got rid of all tariffis between the german states, so that they could trade toegther. This promoted the unity of the german people because now they could trade with each other. Bismark also started taking over a lot of the german states, causing them to unify. So basicly Napolen and Bismark promoted and brought german unity to the states.

Yesterday i learned about a lot of different artsists from the time period we are studying. I learned about vitor Hugo, who i didn;t know had so many stories and oaintings. In fact, i didn't even know that he drew at all. I thught he was just a writer. I didn't even know that he wrote the hunchback of notre dame. I also learned aboy charles dickens, who is one of my favorite writers. I didn't know about his past or history so much. So it was very intresting to learn about where he came from and how that inspired his writings. I also learned about beetoven.I knew he was a composer and have heard some of his music. But i didn't know he was actually deaf for his last few symphonies. I think that is really amazing that he continued to write music even though he coulden't hear it. i also learned a lot about JMW Turner, who i didn't know wxisted until we picked him for a powerpoint. It was cool to see his painting style and his view on nature. Especally his paintings of the ocean, which were amazing and beautiful. Overall it was very intresting to learn about some of the famous artists that were around that time, and i found it fascinating to learn about their styles and techniques.

In reaction to the industrial revolution some new art styles devolped fairly quickly. One of the biggest was an art tyle that focused on normal life. Usually paintings done in this style were from unique angles and focused not on one person but the whole scene. More art also devolped depicting the life of the workers. Showing the hardships and their lifestyles. Romantisicum also devolped at this time. Romanticisum is like the over visualization of yourself, not focusing on romantic stories like the title implies. More abstract art also popped up. Artists like van gough and other abstract artists started to piant the world with bright unblended colors that the eye would blend natrually.
